Isuru Wijesoma is a guitarist based in Singapore. Although he has being playing the instrument for nearly 20 years, his goal has been clear - to push what is possible with this instrument. He is one a few people who exclusively uses a custom-made, double neck guitar that allows him to combine his electric guitar playing with Hindustani and Carnatic slide guitar. Isuru’s debut album, Third Culture, is a meditation on his journey as a guitarist. Comprising seven tracks, the album explores a specific aspect of guitar playing - ranging from blues to Indian classical music. With each track, he aims to create a musical scene that captures his time with a particular style. The album also features synth playing which was captured by equipping a tool that converts guitar sounds to an electronic, synth signal. Third Culture proudly features several renown musicians in the Singapore scene. The album was mixed and mastered by the Grammy Award nominated, Jerry Chua from Myx Studios.
