Yxalag -- Klezmerensemble Im Herbst 2008 gründete sich an der Musikhochschule Lübeck ein Ensemble, das sich aus Musikern verschiedener Studiengänge zusammensetzte. Sie eint ihre Neugierde, Leidenschaft und ihr Engagement, sich mit der populären Musik osteuropäischer Juden zu beschäftigen: Klezmer. Unter der Leitung von Prof. Bernd Ruf erspielten sich die Studenten ein Programm mit traditionellen und modernen Klezmerkompositionen, die sie für ihr Ensemble neu bearbeiteten. Überall wo die jungen Künstler auftreten, sorgen sie für regelrechte Begeisterungsstürme und Standing Ovations durch ihre leidenschaftliche Spielweise: wild, jung, frei, kraftvoll, zart, melancholisch -- galaktisch. Die Lübecker Nachrichten jubelten nach dem Konzertdebüt: „Yxalag begeisterten mit virtuosem, temperamentvollem Spiel ebenso wie mit den berührend schlichten, ausdrucksstarken Melodien". Mittlerweile sind sie Stipendiaten bei Yehudi Menuhin Live Music Now. Im Mai 2010 erschien ihre erste CD „Klezmer Tales -- A Yiddishe Mame".
