Katie Morgan Flute Welsh flautist, Katie Morgan, first started learning the flute at the age of 16. Progressing quickly, she achieving grade 8 distinction, within just six-and-a-half months of learning the flute. A few months later, she then achieved the Advanced Certificate, followed by the LRSM diploma. Kate was subsequently a member of the National Youth Orchestra of Wales. A former student of Jonathan Snowden, Paul Edmund-Davies, Chris Hankin, Katy Gainham, Averil Williams and Ian Clarke, Katie studied the flute at the Guildhall School of Music in London, in affiliation with City University. In a masterclass context, she also studied with/performed to William Bennett, Robert Dick, and Emmanuel Pahud. Katie now performs internationally as a concerto soloist and recital musician, runs her own successful teaching practice, and writes on freelance basis for the BBC.
