I was 10 when I started playing Veena. My first guru Mrs. Janaki taught veena and Carnatic music. A decade of learning was under Seenu Vaadhyar and Leelavathi daughter, of AKC Natarajan. Singing whilst playing veena is a unique skill I managed to pick at a young age. This has made me more versatile in singing under guidance of my guru Mrs. Radha on bhajans, sloka recitals, alongside playing them on veena. Mrs. Lalitha, my mother in-law has been my pillar of support, who also sings bhajans does sloka recital taught me them. From last 3 years, I am fortunate and blessed to be a student of Mrs. Jayalakshmi Seshadri. Jaya mam, her skills in veena and hold on Carnatic music has made me discover a new myself in learning something more than just playing veena. #veena #mahalakshmi
