Manipur, a state in NorthEastern India, is a state not known by many and it includes both hilly areas(ching) and valley (tam).
The hills are the extensions of the Himalayas .
The hills occupy 9/10ths of the whole area of Manipur but have only 8% of the total population.
The valley on the other hand covers only 8% of total area with 70% of the total population.
The valley represents a lacustrine plane as it was formed due to silting up of Loktak lake .
There are various ethnic groups residing in both the hills and the valleys,
Like;
the Meiteis, the Nagas, the Kuki-Chin groups, Muslims and Nepalis as well.
Manipur is a unity in diversity and the people of both the hills and valleys have been together.
I hope with this channel, the diversed existence of Manipur are brought closer positively.
