Gopal Shyamantak Prasad aka Shyam is a music mystic. A naturally gifted musicologist who is endowed with the Perfect Pitch, Trinity certified pianist/keyboardist, cellist, theorist and composer. He is also a Saxist, Clarinetist, Violist, Violinist, Guitarist, music arranger and freelance musicologist [one who studies, analyses, writes critical musical reviews].
Shyam has developed his own style of Fusion-Carnatic music that has captivated the audience. Shyam effectively uses the Western chords and Carnatic ragas to bring out the emotions that encapsulate a melody.
Shyam has his own music band named “Perfect 4th“. The band focuses on four different genres in music starting from 17th century to modern times. The band performs music from different times and genres – The unique concept juxtaposes from different genres from 1600s to this day. From Western Classical to Carnatic to Maestro Ilaiyaraaja’s music to Shyam’s compositions.
