Ramesh Kanthaswami - Guitar Sessions

I loved music from an young age, listening to Indian movie songs in radio. I don't have formal music training, but picked bits and pieces on the way, by self learning through reading, watching videos, listening...
The Indian music are based on classical scales, called ragam in southern Carnatic genre or raag in the northern Hindustani genre. The scales are bit complicated and on top the composers deviate from the scale to invoke specific moods to match the scenes. So without training, it gets really hard to play them flawlessly.
Here I present my interpretation of some of the movie songs on guitar. My timings are not tight as well as some of the notes, slides, vibratos for the songs may be wrong.
However I do enjoy the time spend doing the research, learning and practicing these songs, which gives me immense joy and satisfaction. Hope this brings a fraction of that joy and happiness for you as well, while watching.
Thank you 🙏
