My Guitar Journey. Played a nylon string for a couple of years late teens, self taught, idiosyncratic, gave it up. Started again in 2010 with electric guitar, soon switched to steel string acoustic, got into slide and open tunings. In 2015 had some serious hand problems, not from guitar but which hindered my playing; even a brass slide was too painful to wear, only glass I could tolerate. Using my own AEAEAE tuning. Mainly played slide, easier on my hands.
I then got into ukulele as my hands could cope with it, settling on AEAE tuning on baritone uke with a guitar D string as the bass string. Then 1/2 size nylon string guitar, and as my hands improved full size nylon string. Sang for a while, not much lately, just instrumental improvs. Still self taught. I like my guitars to buzz, ring and growl. AEAEAE is my main tuning, plus some regular alternate tunings, standard now and then, and experimenting with any others that sound good to my ear. I believe in the healing power of music.
