Artsakh television was created in 1988. The program Andranik was broadcasted
on TV on the 1st of June , which is considered to be the day of „ Artsakh" televisionʼs
birthday. In Nagorno-Karabakh autonomous region the television was created in the
Soviet Union of autonomous republic and in regions the creation of a under the
programm circles of a local television creation, the implementation was delayed
because of the Azerbaijanʼs policy towards the armenian population in the region. In
1988 the regional radio had over a six decade history biography, besides this, the
dream to have a television became a reality for artsakh people.
The birth of Artsakh television coincided with the start of a new stage of national
liberation of Artsakh. The new television became the voice and ideology of the
Karabakh movement.
