Description - Alternating Thirds
Every other string is either a major or minor third ascending, which allows you to play most diatonic chords with only one or two fingers. Barring all strings at any one fret will give you a closed position #11 chord, which implies Lydian mode. This tuning is great for playing melodies across the strings to allow notes to ring into eachother like a harp, which makes it very useful for composing textural layers for songs. Because triads and extended chords are so easy to play, the tuning is also wonderful for songwriting as you can easily find chords with only one or two fingers that work well together. It is a variation on FACEGB, but tuned a half step down for my longer scale guitar.
