DADADGAD Quadruple Modal D - Guitar tuning, chords & scales
Description - Quadruple Modal D
8 string chords, impersonation of Tanpura / Sitar, arpeggio and textural works.
It’s possible to hit D in 8 places at once to create a massive, single-note drone wall to then migrate to complex chords from (low string to high string positions: 0-5-0-5-0-7-5-0)
Also use for “five octave tapping” where strings 1, 3, 5, and 8 can be tapped at the twelfth fret to span D1 to D5. Fretting hand can move to desired positions in desired scales.
Anyway, when I first came up with it I jokingly called it “My Two DAD-GADs”
